Dragon Falls

A huge green dragon head roars out from a chasm that has water pouring in waterfalls from both sides. A rainbow arches from side to side of the chasm behin the dragon.

This few days have been less than productive and a lot, lot less than fun. I’ve been nagging apple for the last eight months to get my computers problem with iCloud Drive fixed,  Thursday, I mention to the senior advisor (about the fifth I’ve talked to) that since my20 month old computer had been not fully functional due to iCloud problems for at least 12 of those months, I was ready for a new computer or a lawyer. I wasn’t quite that blatant, but I believe I got the point across. Perhaps this one knows more than the previous ones. At any rate, I spend Thursday afternoon backing up everything on my hard drive, and then erasing my hard drive completely under his supervision. It wouldn’t be my first choice, but I have been waiting a long time for a solution, and I was willing to try almost anything. It booted up on the very latest OS - so I cn no longer access the pages I built in iWeb, but I had exposed to my hard drive, so I can see them with any web browser. Whew!

I have been given strict instructions to download may programs fresh from the web and not transfer any of the preference files where  bug(s) may reside. It ‘ll take days to weeks to get everything set up and working the way I’d like. BUT, my internet is working much faster, because iCloud isn’t stealing band width; Bird (associated with iCloud) isn’t using over 100% of my resources, AND, my 90 minute battery life has been extended dramatically. I’ve been running 8 hours on this charge, and it’s still at 54% full. Even brand new, I never got this much milage on one charge. Hurrah!!! I think it’s fixed. The headache of setting preferences for dozens of programs may be worth the results. It’ll be nice not to have to travel with a power cord.

I think the dragon in the composite photo above is expressing some of my frustration I felt since I got his computer. The starting image (shown below) was a waterfall and rainbow over a deep chasm.  Both the waterfall and dragon are from Pixabay. If this continue well, I’ll have to emphasize the rainbow aspect next week ;-)
